In 2016, football player Colin Kaepernick had his career cut short after protesting police brutality and voice how racist the United States is during an NFL game. At the time, he was a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers and since then he has never played for any team in the league, nor has he been invited to practice, even though he was physically fit.
It is difficult to conceive that an athlete can no longer play simply because he has touched on extremely important issues that demand attention and urgency in being addressed. Structurally and for years, we have known that black people can do anything, as long as they don't question, so this among many other examples, do justice to the famous modus operandi that oppresses, cancels, violates and silences black people.
This hiatus involving quarterback Colin Kaepernick seems to be ending as the Las Vegas Raiders invited him to a 'no strings attached' training session.
Although this participation has no contractual link, the most important thing is that Colin Kaeperninck has been able to move on and is being seen in full physical shape. Now it's just a matter of time before he returns to the football fields once and for all.
