Tomás Scola, son of Luis, one of the greatest Argentine players of all time, has been called up to the under-17 national team and wants to follow his father's legacy.

Luis Scola gave everything he could for a flag. He did everything for a shirt. He gave the quality, the race, the strength and practically the soul for Argentina. Few players represented a national team as the former center.

An immense curriculum with passage through the NBA, Spanish titles, fantastic performances in Euroleagues and, of course, the greatest of all: the Olympic gold medal in Athens, 2004. The famous Argentine “Golden Generation”.

After retiring from the national team and, in the last year, from other teams as well, Scola assumed the post of executive director of Pallacanestro Varese, a team in the Italian Division I in which the former player ended his career.

In Italy, he follows the steps of the one who can continue writing more stories with the surname Scola. At 16 years old, Tomás, Luis' son plays in Varese's youth categories and now he will have a huge opportunity to start tracing his father's path. He entered the pre-list of the Argentine national team for the Under-17 World Cup, which takes place between the 2nd and 10th of July, in Malaga, Spain.

There were 25 names called, a good base of the team that disputed the Pan American in 2021 and that are commanded by Léo Gutiérrez, another legend of Argentine basketball.

Also in 2013, Luis Scola spoke about a conversation with his son Tomás, then 13 years old.

- Tommy, did you like it? (it was Tomás' 1st basketball practice)”;

- I loved it, Dad.

Will another Scola write (again) basketball history?
